Everyone who knows her will tell you, “Ugina is my friend,” the kind of person we all want in our life. Ugina is especially important to her friends in Thresholds’ Life Skills program, a group of people who regularly get together to socialize, enjoy outings in the community and, most importantly, support and encourage each other.
Many years ago, a departing Thresholds staff member encouraged Ugina to continue her very important role of being a caring and supportive friend, a shoulder that others can lean on. Ugina took that advice to heart and commits herself to staying connected to her peers and to Thresholds because of the unique and important role she plays.
Her caring influence is making a real impact not only on her group, but on Thresholds as a whole. Ugina and others formed a committee to encourage other individuals involved in Thresholds by sending them cards and serving as welcoming hosts for events!
